Serbian Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo, who is leading a Serbian state and business delegation on a visit to South Africa, has said that local businesspeople have shown interest in cooperation with Serbia.
Bubalo met with representatives of South Africa’s investment promotion and commercial cooperation agencies in the country’s two most developed provinces and he also spoke to local businesspeople at the South African Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Bubalo told Tanjug news agency that South African businesspeople and partners have shown interest in the transfer of Serbian technology as well as in trade deals, and he added that Krusevac’s tyre maker Trayal has received new, much larger orders from local customers than the initial ones three months ago.
Bubalo said that Zemun’s Institute of Corn also has big opportunities in the South African market given that the country’s highly developed agriculture is dominated by corn production.
The Serbian delegation will continue its tour tomorrow, traveling to Botswana for talks with local officials in charge of economy.
