Serbian Minister of Health Tomica Milosavljevic said today that the Ministry will launch a campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of blood donation. The goal is to increase the current number of 31 donors per 1,000 citizens to at least 40.

Speaking on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, marked in Belgrade with a central promotional event in the city’s main square, Minister Milosavljevic said that it is in the national interest to secure sufficient supplies of safe blood.
Many citizens donated blood in a specially equipped bus stationed in the square, while Red Cross members handed out promotional leaflets.
