Parivodic also announced that Italy will officially approve €30 million in loans to Serbian companies tomorrow, under favourable terms and for the procurement of goods from Italian suppliers.
He said that during the talks the two officials welcomed the good economic relations between the two countries, especially the increase of Serbian exports to Italy. He noted that trade with Italy in the first three months of the year was almost balanced.
Minister of Economy Predrag Bubalo said that there are great hopes that Italian investors will invest in the Serbian economy given that Italy is Serbia’s largest trade partner when it comes to exports.
He recalled that the problems with economic relations between the two countries were resolved during the previous visit after the Serbian delegation addressed relations between Italian Fiat and Kragujevac’s Zastava.
Talks between Fiat and Zastava will be continued this week, said Bubalo and added that he also discussed the construction of the Constanta-Pancevo-Trieste oil pipeline, in whose building Italy will also take part.
Bubalo said that they also talked about the construction of a highway to the Montenegrin coast and a large complex in New Belgrade, including a shopping mall, Olympic Village, and apartment buildings. According to him, Italian investors are expected to invest around $1 billion in this project.
