Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Zoran Loncar said today in Vranje that after the adoption of a new Constitution, districts will become even more important, although they are already now true regional centres of public administration.
Speaking at the fourth regular meeting with presidents of all districts, Loncar said that a new Law on the Serbian government will be adopted and that it will allow for district reform.
Apart from Minister Loncar, today's meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister Zoran Petrovic and Ministry's Secretary Djordje Cveticanin.
Loncar pointed to the importance of obtaining a positive assessment of the Feasibility Study, because it opens the gate of the European Union to Serbia. He also spoke about the importance of adoption of laws on prevention of the conflict of interests, on public agencies, on the government, on the public administration and civil servants. The Minister promised that by the end of the year the other half of district presidents will be given official cars.
