At the training of state administration staff who will be responsible for harmonising Serbian legislation with the EU legal system, Miscevic pointed out that 2012 will be the year when Serbia will be ready to enter the EU, provided work continues at this speed and with the existence of a general consensus.
She repeated that negotiations on the conclusion of the stabilisation and association agreement could be finished in the first half of next year and emphasised that work is currently being done on voluntary harmonisation of our legislation with the EU legal system in segments, which will then become obligatory after the conclusion of this agreement.
According to her, the conclusion of the stabilisation and association agreement entails the fulfilment of obligations of associated EU member states, which based on Croatian experience, will mean the harmonisation of nearly 400 laws.
