Representatives of 11 Serbian municipalities and the German organisation for technical cooperation (GTZ) signed today agreements on financial assistance totalling €500,000 and intended for improving energy efficiency, water supply, and solid waste management.
Secretary-General of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities Djordje Stancic said that the agreements are related to projects in small municipalities unable to resolve water supply and waste disposal problems due to a lack of finance and trained staff.
Stancic said that eight municipalities will receive the funds immediately, while the remaining three will implement the projects in the second half of the year.
According to him, the GTZ, through the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation, will provide funds for a few more similar projects next year.
