Srdjan Djuric
Noting that the reply by the Kosovo government’s spokesman showed that Kosumi is conditioning and delaying the beginning of talks, Djuric told Tanjug news agency that the Serbian government had sent the invitation for talks because it believed that Kosumi had expressed genuine readiness for dialogue.
The Serbian Prime Minister clearly stated that he wanted to talk about all the problems in the province, said Djuric and added that resolving even the smallest of problems in Kosovo-Metohija is important to the Serbian government and that it is crucial to launch a dialogue immediately and without any conditioning or delay.
As for the place to hold the talks, Djuric said that the Serbian government would agree for the first meeting to be held in Prizren, and then subsequent meetings in Djakovica, Pec, Pristina, Gnjilane, Urosevac – or in any other place in the province.
The government remains open for dialogue and for seeking a solution to all the problems in the province, said Djuric and he expressed the hope that similar readiness will soon prevail with representatives of Kosovo’s provisional institutions and self-government.
