Visiting the Sava Centre conference facility, which is preparing to host the EBRD annual meeting between May 21 and 23, Labus said that Serbia is on the road to Europe and that while investment risk is much lower now, investors still do not have a clear picture of the situation.
“The problem is that our country has a lower rating than it deserves and this event will be an opportunity to show what we are and who we are”, said Labus. He expressed the conviction that this conference will help to improve Serbia’s image in the eyes of potential investors.
Labus also announced that he and National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelasic, together with three ministers, will give an opening presentation at the EBRD conference.
Belgrade Mayor Nenad Bogdanovic said that the preparations of Sava Centre will be finished by tomorrow. He announced that the works have cost around 450 million dinars, stressing that the facility will be ready to welcome some 3,000 participants and 500 reporters.
Bogdanovic also expressed hope that the money invested by the city and government will pay off soon after the EBRD conference through investments that Serbia will attract as a result.
