Head of the Serbian government’s Office of Media Relations Srdjan Djuric said today that Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic are ready to launch talks with Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi in Prizren on May 24.
Djuric stressed that Belgrade is resolute in the search for solutions to Kosovo problems through patient dialogue and compromise, noting that all parliamentary parties are undivided and that the talks should start immediately.
Bearing in mind the fact that Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi has expressed readiness to start talks and since there are many unresolved problems in the province, the Serbian government is of the opinion that it is time for concrete steps to be taken, Djuric underlined.
Djuric reiterated that the Serbian government is firm in their conviction that readiness for compromise and patient dialogue simply do not have an alternative.
