The agreement was signed by Serbian Minister of Finance Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic, Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of International Economic Relations Predrag Ivanovic, and EIB Vice-President Gerlando Genuardi.
Dinkic said that the loan will be repaid over 20 years after a grace period of five years.
He explained that eight new schools will be built in Novi Sad, Subotica, Stara Pazova, Smederevo, Zemun, Novi Pazar, Kraljevo, and Vranje, while the school for special needs children in Zemun, Sava Sirogojno, will be fully renovated.
The entire project is targeted for completion by the end of 2007, according to Dinkic.
