At a conference organised yesterday by daily Pregled, Milosavljevic said that it will not be possible to employ a foreigner without a working licence, which will be issued together with the residence licence. She noted that new regulations also will stipulate the issuance of business licences, so that foreigners will be allowed to legally run their own businesses.
According to Milosavljevic, the new regulations will be based on quotas regulated by the Serbian government in accordance with the working age population, territory, occupation and branches of economy.
The quotas will include seasonal labour, but not foreign investors, their management, diplomats and their families or employees at offices of foreign companies.
She said that considering the impending entrance of Serbia into the EU, the legislation will offer liberal employment rules for foreigners. Employment of foreign persons will thus be limited only by high unemployment rates and disloyal competition, she noted.
