Bogosavljevic-Boskovic underlined that the quality of wine production in Serbia is increasing, and over the past three years the European Commission has been giving constant praise about the progress of this sector.
She added that the interest in production of wine from indigenous varieties is also increasing considerably.
The Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection said that the introduction of modern technologies is more and more present among Serbian wine producers, which is why the Ministry will continue to give considerable support this year too.
This support includes incentives for raising production and stem plantations, for clonal selection of indigenous and local varieties created, purchase of new equipment and intermediate goods, and the promotion of denomination of origin and wine analysis.
The Ministry is providing support through more than 20 measures and depending on the measure, the incentives can be up to RSD 2.5 million, with a refund ranging from 30% to 100%.
In addition, the amounts of incentives for improving wine growing in the Republic of Serbia are among the highest in the region.
A new law on wine, which is in its final stage of preparation, will simplify the procedures for producers of grapes and wine to a large degree, the Minister concluded.
