Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said that the agriculture ministers from 59 countries of the world agreed that they must take maximum efforts for agricultural development, which requires the support of all governments and society.
Only in this way will villages become more attractive places for life and work, and social and economic inequalities between urban and rural areas will be diminished, the Minister of Agriculture said.
The Berlin Summit of Agriculture Ministers is traditionally organised in the framework of the largest International Fair "Green Week" - the fair for food, agriculture and horticulture.
This year the meeting was devoted to "How to feed our cities - agriculture and rural areas in the era of urbanisation".
Bogosavljevic-Boskovic stated that the summit will be attended by high officials of world agriculture, including 59 ministers.
She said that safe and affordable food and nutrition stability is one of the key challenges of the 21st century, which calls for a political, economic and social framework for productive and sustainable agriculture.
She added that the spotlight will be to legally secure access to agricultural land, support for investments in innovation, training of agricultural producers, raising the attractiveness of rural areas through the strengthening of economic and social infrastructure in the villages.
Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said that the ministers agreed that maximum efforts must be addressed to facilitate the development of agriculture.
During her visit to Berlin, Bogosavljevic-Boskovic spoke with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of Slovenia Dejan Zidan on further activities on the improvement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and future activities of Serbia regarding the World Day of Bees, to be initiated by Slovenia and Serbia.
Also, Bogosavljevic-Boskovic met with Agriculture Minister of Hungary Sandor Fazekas to arrange his visit to Serbia next month.
She also spoke with the Minister of Agriculture of Montenegro Petar Ivanovic, with whom she discussed cooperation in EU Integration and experiences in the field of rural development.
Bogosavljevic-Boskovic spoke with German Agriculture Minister Christian Schmidt, Austrian Agriculture Minister Andrea Ruprehterom and Luxembourg Minister Fernando Etgenom.
At the initiative of the Iranian side a meeting with Iran's Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati to discuss the signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of plant health and plant quarantine to prevent the spread of plant diseases and pests, which can have disastrous effects on agriculture and the economy of a country.
The 81st Fair "Green Week" is one of the largest international fairs of this type that every year gathers more than 1,700 exhibitors and a large number of visitors who can enjoy a tasting of food from different parts of the world.
