Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said that the market of the Russian Federation counts on agricultural and food products from Serbia, which are recognisable by its quality and place of origin.
She described the cooperation between the two ministries of agriculture as excellent, and the participants in the talks agreed that the cooperation should be strengthened not only by boosting trade in agricultural and food products, but also through concrete investments in the agro-industrial sector in Serbia.
The Minister of Agriculture recalled that the volume of trade in agricultural and food products is on the constant rise and that exports from Serbia have increased over 15 times.
In 2014, the trade volume stood at $312 million and Serbia’s surplus amounted to $252 million in the first 10 months of 2015, the largest increase in exports and the amount of Serbian agricultural products exported to the Russian market was recorded, while the share of agricultural products in the total exports of Serbia to the Russian Federation increases year in year out (in 2012 - 17.1% and in 2015 - 36.4%).
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergey Levin also described cooperation with the Republic of Serbia as successful and very promising and added that the proposed plans for the improvement of cooperation will boost trade even more.
Head of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Sergey Alexeevich Dankvert confirmed that the market of the Russian Federation is satisfied with products from Serbia and added that cooperation of experts on both sides will be improved and the procedure of export and the import of pork meat to Russia will be accelerated.
He confirmed that trade will be increased considerably compared to previous years.
During the bilateral meeting, the participants also discussed impressions of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture of their visit to Serbian companies in the meat and dairy industry that export products to Russia.
