Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic stated today that the goal is to reduce unemployment in Serbia to 15% over the next two years, and underlined that in doing this, the government will pay special attention to municipalities in southern Serbia.
Speaking at the opening of the factory Leoni, which specialises in the production of automotive cables for Jaguar and Landrover cars, Vucic said that the commissioning of the third production facility of Leoni in Serbia is a proof that hard work does pay off.
He also told the representatives of the factory that he expects more new production plants in Serbia and called on German companies and other foreign investors to continue investing in Serbia.
The Prime Minister announced that the Serbian government will strive to reduce unemployment and that it will pay special attention to the Pcinja and Nisava Districts and southern Serbia.
The factory in Doljevac near Nis covers an area of 25,000 square meters and the value of the investment is over €21 million. The state of Serbia gave the incentive in the amount of €10.5 million, or €7.000 per employee.
The construction of the factory started in August 2013 and trial production in April 2014.
The event was also attended by German Ambassador to Serbia Axel Dittmann and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez.
