Deal with Chinese on Zelezara Smederevo steel plant by end-November

Minister of Economy Zejko Sertic stated that the memorandum with Chinese company HBIS which is interested in purchasing Zelezara Smederevo steel plant will be signed in late November, during the visit of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to China.

After opening the Belgrade Furniture Fair, Sertic told reporters that negotiations are underway and expressed the hope that we will have very clear and tangible results concerning the matter in the next few weeks and that we would be able to sign the memorandum during the Prime Minister's visit to China.
Speaking about the partnership model, the Minister said that this is a classic privatisation case.
Sertic also said that the IMF confirmed the agreement that of 17 state-owned enterprises, which are protected by May 2016, the fate of seven will be resolved until the New Year and announced a public call for the sale of PKB within two weeks.
