Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic and Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic met today with politico-economic delegation of Iran led by Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Mining and President of the Iranian Organisation for the Promotion of trade Valiollah Afkhami.

In a meeting with the Iranian delegation, which consisted of representatives of state institutions, and businessmen in the area of trade and food, textile and petrochemical industries, they discussed the promotion of the economic cooperation and ways to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
During the meeting it was agreed that Iran opens an economic and trade centre in Belgrade, which will be the headquarters of the Iranian economy for the whole Balkan region, taking into account the fact that Serbia is economically the most relevant country in the region.
The officials also agreed that the Joint committee for economic cooperation between the two countries holds a meeting at the end of this year in Tehran, according to a statement from the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
