Jobs for 2,400 workers at Johnson Electric in Nis

Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic, Mayor of Nis Zoran Perisic, Director of Johnson Electric for Europe Markus Schmitz, Executive Director Austin Wang and Johnson Electric representative Laurent Cardona signed today in Nis a Memorandum of Understanding.

This memorandum envisages another investment of Johnson Electric in the amount of €50 million and the employment of another 2,400 workers.
The signing of the memorandum was also attended by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, who pointed out that in several years this will be the largest factory in Serbia, adding that this is the first big and good news for the citizens of Nis after many years, and that there will be more in the coming period.
Vucic said that he is particularly happy that the company chose Serbia and Nis to open its production plant there, and because the Serbian government participated in this and invested €6,750,000.
Another positive thing is that Johnson Electric has established cooperation with the technical school and the Universities of Nis, stating that in the coming period the state will work on cooperation between the economy and the education system.
