Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic announced today possible talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on an increase in salaries and pensions already at the end of August.

At a summit of finance ministers and governors "Financial future of the region" in Becici, he reiterated that the state should not be the major source of employment, but that the private sector should act the major source of employment.
The Minister said that if the positive trends continue, that came as a result of austerity measures, we could talk about the easing of restrictions in late August.
There were those who criticised us because we implement even harsher austerity measures, but the government went with a minimum reduction of salaries and pensions, to have the fiscal circle closed, Vujovic said.
