Antic said in a statement the agency Tanjug that he met with Secretary General of the Energy Charter Urban Rusnak, Director for the Western Balkans in DG Enlargement Jean Eric Paquet and Dominique Ristori from the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission.
He said that he received assurances that Serbia is progressing well on the European road, which was confirmed by the invitation to fit join the Energy Charter Treaty and the Energy Community.
Antic expressed confidence that the first chapter in the accession negotiations will be opened soon.
At the conference "Serbia in the EU: Challenges and Opportunities", which was organised in Brussels by the Petroleum Industry of Serbia, Antic called on the European and world entrepreneurs to invest in Serbia.
Serbia is a serious place for investment and we give all guarantees to investors, the Minister of Energy and Mining said at the conference which was attended by diplomats, business representatives and officials of the EU, adding that prospects are particularly favourable in the energy sector.
He said that the main priorities of the Ministry of Mining and Energy include the restructuring of Srbijagas and the establishment of an independent gas transport operator, which should be completed on 1 July.
