Collin, at a joint press conference with Sertic and Moro held after a meeting at the Embassy of France in Belgrade, announced that representatives of French transport companies that are interested in getting involved in projects for modernisation of rail transport in Serbia will visit Belgrade on 1-2 April.
The last year was of paramount importance for improving relations between our two countries after the visit of the Prime Minister and the President of Serbia to Paris and of the French Prime Minister to Belgrade, the President of the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce said.
Colin pointed out that last year, after the opening of accession negotiations between Serbia and the EU and bilateral visits at the highest level, the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce received twice as many applications by French companies in relation to 2013 for making studies for the start or development of business in Serbia.
The requests are primarily related to agriculture, telecommunications, digital technologies, construction and transport infrastructure.
Sertic said that French companies have shown interest in the privatisation of spas, resorts, in privatisation or participation in some kind of concessions or partnerships with the state in connection with the airport Nikola Tesla, in the privatisation of Telekom and in the construction of the Belgrade Metro.
Moro congratulated the Serbian government on reaching the precautionary arrangement with the IMF, which was possible because the government has assumed the obligations of the budget healing, reduction of public debt and implementation of structural reforms.
She reiterated that France supports Serbia’s path towards the EU and reforms implemented by the Serbian government.
