Sertic said on this occasion that this cooperation must be significantly more efficient and based on a firmer basis than it is currently under the CEFTA agreement, which is not binding.
Some kind of a customs union, as recently mentioned in Berlin by Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, would significantly improve the economy in the region, but would also show to the EU a clear commitment of the Western Balkans to economic prosperity and growth, the Minister said.
He expressed gratitude to Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia Maja Piscevic on the cooperation that this institution has with the Serbian government and with the domestic business sector, particularly in the area of improving the operation of enterprises and legal regulations.
Participants in the meeting expressed satisfaction over the fact that Belgrade will be the host of the conference of American chambers of commerce in the region "New See - See the Potential," which will be held on 27-28 March next year.
This investment conference will bring together existing and potential investors in order to connect, represent and promote the region as a place suitable for investment, reads a statement by the Ministry of Economy.
