Boosting cooperation of Serbian, EU companies

Minister of Economy Zeljko Sertic and Head of the Serbian team for negotiations on EU accession Tanja Miscevic participated in a meeting of businessmen from Serbia with European MPs and businessmen held in the European Parliament.

Sertic pointed out that the organisation of this meeting is another in a series of activities by which the Serbian government wants to encourage businessmen from the EU to cooperate with Serbian companies, and to present to Serbian businessmen the challenges and opportunities brought by the EU membership.
He said that Serbian companies have a chance on the European market, noting that it is important that our businessmen connect with European institutions and entrepreneurs.
The Minister expressed hope that such meetings will become traditional and will be held every year.
Member of the European Parliament and Head of the parliamentary delegation for the Western Balkans Eduard Kukan pointed out that because of the image of Serbia in the EU it is important that apart from political delegations, businessmen also come to Brussels, given that the economy will occupy an increasingly important place in the enlargement process.
The meeting in Brussels was organised by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with a group of members of the European Parliament for the support to small and medium-sized enterprises, reads a statement by the Ministry of Economy.
