Budget revision to be reviewed by MPs by 15 September

Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic said today that the key elements for the revision of this year's budget will be known by 8 September at the latest, while the proposal for revision will be before members of parliament by 15 September.

Vujovic said after a meeting with members of AmCham that the changes to the budget will not be big, but will be essential, and added that the reduction in wages and pensions is one of the elements to be considered in the framework of reduction of budget expenditures, which are too high.
The Minister pointed out that the measures include a reduction of interest expense and administrative services, and increase of revenue.
Also, he said that one of the measures is the reduction of the gray economy, improving fiscal discipline and tax collection, as well as increasing the efficiency of public enterprises.
We aim to reduce the budget deficit from the current RSD 310 to 320 billion to a sustainable level of RSD 120 billion by 2017, i.e., to reduce it up to RSD 60 to 65 billion annually, explained Vujovic.
