After the Business Forum Serbia-Czech Republic, organised in the framework of an official visit to the state-economic delegation of the Czech Republic led by Czech President Milos Zeman, Ilic said that there is a proposal on the table for Skoda cars to be finished in Serbia.
This was also discussed last year during the visit of the Serbian delegation to the Czech Republic, when the Czech Republic offered Serbia a favourable loan, one part of which remained unused.
According to Ilic, a part of the loan is aimed at the railway, while the second part of the funds will be used for concession works on Corridor 11 and upgrading the road Zrenjanin -Borca-Zemun.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Stevan Nikcevic said that in addition to trade, as a traditional form of cooperation between the two countries, areas with high potential for cooperation also include energy, renewable energy, environment and transport infrastructure.
Zeman said that in the Czech Republic there is a great interest in long-term investments in Serbia, which is why the Czech Republic ranked Serbia among 12 priority countries for future investment.
Zeman said that companies from the Czech Republic can contribute to the development of Serbian economy and improve life in Serbia through long-term investment projects.
Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vladimir Bartl confirmed that Czech companies are ready to offer to Serbian partners their solutions in the energy, transport infrastructure and clean forms of technology for the utilisation of renewable energy sources.
