Labus told an international conference on European integration in Belgrade, organised by Serbia’s employers association, that the pace of association with the EU depends on Serbia itself and he added that the climate in the country is positive but that there are challenges relating to the rate of inflation and balance of payments.
He stressed that international financial institutions have undoubtedly acknowledged that the Serbian government’s policy is reformist, responsible, and successful.
He recalled that the International Monetary Fund has successfully completed the fourth revision of its arrangement with Serbia and that the World Bank has approved a new three-year arrangement.
Labus said these decisions should encourage all businesspeople that next year will be a stable one in terms of doing business.
According to him, the government’s task is to press ahead with structural reform and it will focus on large companies.
