Implementation of agreements reached in Belgrade-Pristina dialogue essential

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said late yesterday in Brussels that the delegations of Belgrade and Pristina agreed that all the agreements reached during the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue must be implemented.

Speaking to the press after a meeting of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and President of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Kosovo Isa Mustafa with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Dacic said that the meeting also dealt with membership of Kosovo in international organisations, but that no agreement on this matter was reached.

The talks were very difficult and the only thing on which a consensus was reached was that it is imperative to implement all that has been agreed so far and Serbia expects this will happen. The situation is very complex and Serbia insists on confidence in the dialogue and the status neutrality of the dialogue and we will stick to this in the future, Dacic underlined.

He also said that Prime Minister Vucic had very difficult talks on the topics that were discussed before the meeting, adding that the Prime Minister will speak to the public about these topics, such as the issue of Chapter 35. He will present our views and assessments and announcements on how we will behave in the future.

Serbia is a credible partner, and we are not bringing into question anything that we have signed and promised. Pristina also pledged to fulfil everything agreed, Dacic added.

Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Marko Djuric said that there is a new amendment to the proposed platform for Chapter 35 which additionally worsens conditions for Serbia's European integration and pressures Serbia to directly or indirectly recognise the independence of Kosovo.

The amendment was proposed by Germany and supported by the United Kingdom and Croatia, Djuric stated.

Djuric said that the Serbian Prime Minister is seriously considering how to observe the future of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, political life in the country, and of the Serbian government.

EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini was a host of the last night’s informal dinner in Brussels, which was attended by Vucic and Mustafa as part of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, mediated by the EU.
