Newly elected magistrates, prosecutors sworn in at parliament

Newly appointed magistrates were sworn in at the Serbian parliament today in the presence of Minister of Justice Zoran Stojkovic.

Stojkovic said that it is essential that appointed magistrates be honourable, honest, and diligent people, and he wished them success in their work.
Stojkovic said that new legislation envisions the setting up of courts for offences and he expressed the hope that the election of new magistrates will help improve the field of judiciary.
Presidents of courts, judges, public prosecutors, and deputy prosecutors, who were appointed on March 9, also gave an oath of office at the parliament today before Speaker Predrag Markovic.
