At a meeting of the Israeli Business Forum, Dinkic told representatives of Israeli companies that the image of investment possibilities in Serbia would change after a positive assessment by the EU.
The Finance Minister expressed hope that in the following months, after the visit of Minister of Capital Investment Velimir Ilic and Minister of International Economic Relations Milan Parivodic to Israel, concrete agreements would be reached on economic cooperation between the two countries, which according to him is insufficient at this moment.
Dinkic pointed out the wide-range of investment opportunities in Serbia and good chances of making a profit, as tax rates on corporate profits were only 10 percent, the lowest in Europe.
Ambassador of Israel to Belgrade Yaffa Ben-Ari said that she believed in better economic cooperation with Serbia, whose economy is compatible with that of Israel.
Ben-Ari stated that the Israeli economy was oriented more towards the development of high technology, which currently makes up 25 percent of its industrial production.
According to her, last year Israel had $5.3 billion in foreign investments while its export volume was $50.1 billion.
The Israeli Business Forum was established in 2003 with the aim of promoting better economic relations with Serbia-Montenegro. So far about 80 Israeli companies have registered. The overall bilateral trade between Serbia and Israel last year stood at $35.9 million.
