Putin wished Kostunica a successful term of office as the new Serbian Prime Minister and gave his full support to the government's efforts to improve the efficiency of Serbia-Montenegro.
The Russian President said that the quality of standards implementation should be the priority in resolving the problems in Kosovo-Metohija, stressing that the two countries should make efforts to further improve traditionally good relations, particularly their business ties.
Fradkov thanked the Serbian Prime Minister for congratulating him on his earlier appointment as the Russian Prime Minister, adding that he believes that the new Serbian government will help strengthen political stability and legal safety in Serbia-Montenegro and resolve social end economic problems in the state union.
Russia is a good example of a country successfully undergoing transition by strengthening its institutions, promoting the rule of law and taking resolute steps to combat corruption, Kostunica said.
The meeting with Razov also focused on Kosovo-Metohija. Pointing to the drastic violation of the local Serb community's basic human rights, the Serbian Prime Minister stressed that Kosovo-Metohija must be decentralised and recalled that the Council of Europe gave the initiative for the province's decentralisation in December 2002.
The two officials agreed that it is not necessary to speed up discussions on the province's final status.
Kostunica and Razov expressed readiness to improve bilateral cooperation as well as scientific and technical relations. They highlighted the importance of Russian companies' participation in Serbia's privatisation process and the reconstruction of the Djerdap I hydro-electric power plant, also stressing that the two countries must resolve the so-called "clearing" debt problem.
