Prime Minister Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, today visited the works within the Expo 2027 complex in Surčin, including the construction of the "Serbian House" national pavilion.
During his visit to the construction site, Macut also met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and Minister of the Economy, Labour and Sports, Dr Anže Logar, with whom he discussed the representation of Slovenia at Expo 2027, as well as the possibilities for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
During the talks, special attention was devoted to improving economic cooperation, connecting companies and institutions, developing innovations and creating new business opportunities.
The interlocutors assessed that Expo 2027 will be a good opportunity to further connect Serbia and Slovenia, present their potential and establish new business ties.
The Prime Minister said that the presentation of Serbia as a whole is one of the important values of the Expo because, in addition to Belgrade, guests from abroad will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the wealth of tourist offers, cultural and historical heritage, natural beauties, traditions and local specificities of different parts of Serbia.
Macut pointed out that the Specialised Exhibition and the "Serbian House" will be a significant opportunity for stronger promotion of Serbia on the international level.
Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade and Commissioner for Expo 2027 Jagoda Lazarević, with whom the Slovenian delegation signed the contract for participation in the Specialised Exhibition, was also on the tour of the construction site of the Expo complex.
Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade Danilo Jerinić informed Prime Minister Macut about the dynamics of work on the construction site and the plans for the construction of the pavilion.
The Specialised Expo 2027 will be held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027, under the theme "Play for Humanity - Sport and Music for All”.
