Serbian Minister of Labour and Social Policy Rasim Ljajic stated that due to extremely high temperatures, the ministry will demand that employers strictly adhere to the Law on safety and health at work.

In a statement to the Beta news agency, Ljajic said employers must carry out all preventive organisational, technical, medical and other protective measures which also imply a re-scheduling of working hours.
He stressed that the ministry will increase the number of inspectors in the field and said that fines for the disrespect of these measures go from RSD 800 to RSD 1 million.
