Starović emphasised that Serbia has shown clear political will and concrete results in implementing reforms, noting that it is particularly important that we have received a positive opinion from the Venice Commission on the package of judicial laws.
According to him, this represents a significant confirmation that the reforms we are implementing are in line with European standards and recommendations from European partners.
The Minister stressed that Serbia continues to implement the reform agenda, improve electoral legislation in line with OSCE/ODIHR recommendations, and further strengthen the rule of law and democratic institutions.
He stated that Serbia expects the European Union to recognise the progress it has made and to enable the opening of Cluster 3, which has been technically ready since December 2021, without further delay.
The accession process must remain based on merit, objective criteria and concrete results, the Minister stressed, adding that Serbia's gradual integration into the single European market is crucial for economic growth, new investments and improving the living standards of citizens.
Starović also noted that Serbia is a reliable and responsible partner of the EU and that our goal remains full membership in the Union, but that at the same time we expect the enlargement policy to gain new momentum and that candidate countries that implement reforms will be adequately evaluated and rewarded for the results achieved.
