Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić spoke today with Secretary General of the International Organisation for Mediation (IOMed) Teresa Cheng about improving cooperation in the field of alternative dispute resolution, with a special focus on the development and promotion of mediation as an effective mechanism for peaceful conflict resolution and relieving the burden on the judicial system.

Vujić emphasised that the Ministry of Justice continues its activities aimed at strengthening the institutional framework for the application of mediation, improving the capacity of mediators and raising awareness among citizens and businesses about the benefits of this procedure.
Cheng said that this organisation is ready to provide support to Serbia through the exchange of experiences, professional cooperation and joint initiatives in this area.
The officials confirmed mutual commitment to further strengthening cooperation between Serbia and IOMed with the aim of developing a modern, efficient and citizen-accessible dispute resolution system.
