At a meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), at the panel “Strategic Session: Multilateralism as a Collective Response to Global Challenges and the Strategic Role of Regional Mechanisms”, Đurić emphasised that Serbia, thanks to its geographical position, represents an important point connecting different regions, which opens up numerous opportunities for cultural exchange, tourism, business and networking.
He pointed out that Expo 2027 in Belgrade represents one of the most ambitious international projects ever launched by Serbia and the first specialised world exhibition of its kind in Southeast Europe.
The Minister said that a new exhibition complex, a national stadium and an Expo Village are being built in Belgrade, creating world-class infrastructure and a lasting legacy for future generations.
Most Caribbean countries have already confirmed their participation in Expo 2027, which testifies to the ever closer ties between the two regions, while the Caribbean countries have been allocated a prominent space near the entrance to the exhibition, with the intention of becoming a vibrant Caribbean hub in the heart of Europe, Đurić underlined.
He explained that during the 93-day exhibition, millions of visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the richness of Caribbean cultures, traditions, creativity and tourism potential, while companies and institutions will be able to establish new partnerships and expand cooperation.
Expressing his wish for all member states of the Association to be represented in Belgrade, the Minister said that Serbia and the Expo 2027 team remain fully committed to cooperation with partners from the Caribbean.
The Minister thanked all the states that support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and invited the member states of the Association of Caribbean States to come to Belgrade for Expo 2027 and continue to develop all forms of cooperation with Serbia.
