Transformation of Serbian health sector by 2012

State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Health Nevena Karanovic announced today in the Vranje health centre that transformation of the Serbian health sector is due to be finished by 2012 and that health institutions in Serbia will operate according to modern standards applied in most developed countries.
Karanovic told a press conference that the Serbian government, with means from the World Bank, as part of the action "Development of Serbian Health Sector", will build new surgery centres in Valjevo, Kraljevo, Zrenjanin and Vranje.
She announced that Vranje will get a modern €7.5 million surgery centre in two years.
Accompanied by Director of the Vranje health centre Miroljub Stankovic, Karanovic visited ORL and internal departments, the laboratory as well as construction sites in this largest health centre in the Pcinj district.
