Teachers' faculty and post secondary school for education of teachers integrated

Serbian Minister of Education Zoran Loncar said today that merging the Teachers' Faculty and the Post Secondary School for Education of Teachers in Belgrade contributes to rationalisation of the network of higher education in Serbia.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Teachers' Faculty, Loncar said that this will have a positive financial impact and other beneficial effects, such as connecting the two facilities into one functional whole and better use of staff and technical conditions, which will help improve the quality of studies.
He said that the universities, the Ministry of Education and all faculties and post secondary schools in Serbia must make an effort to raise education in Serbia to the level of that in Europe and the world.
Dean of the Teachers' Faculty Aleksandar Jovanovic voiced hope that this merged institution will get a new name - the faculty of pedagogy or the faculty of educational sciences and recalled that that initiative has already been launched at the University of Belgrade.
He said that the universities, the Ministry of Education and all faculties and post secondary schools in Serbia must make an effort to raise education in Serbia to the level of that in Europe and the world.
