Belgrade, July 11, 2007—Director of the Directorate for Enforcement of Penalties of the Serbian Ministry of Justice Sasa Vukadinovic said that Serbian prisons are ready to host convicts for those convicted of organised crime and war crimes.
Vukadinovic told Tanjug that within the Zabela prison, there is a special prison unit technically fully equipped to host those convicted for the most serious crimes.
Apart from the technical part, we need the legal framework in order to put this special prison unit into operation, Vukadinovic said.
Vukadinovic also said that most prisons in Serbia fulfill all conditions for holding these criminals.
