Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic announced today in Novi Sad that over €7 million will be set aside for construction and reconstruction of geriatric homes in Serbia.
Lalovic explained that this is one-fourth of a total of €30 million for reforming social care as part of the National Investment Plan.
According to Lalovic, geriatric homes will be built in all parts of Serbia where work conditions will be at a higher level.
The Minister also expressed expectation that the overall reform of the social care system will be completed in ten years.
Lalovic visited a plant for employing invalids in Novi Sad and noted that the government approved RSD 30.5 million to equip this centre.
He also visited Enterijer Jankovic company that received RSD 2.7 million from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy and the National Employment Service for employing 30 workers from the unemployment register.
