Slovenia supports Serbia's efforts to join Europe

Director of the Serbian government's EU Integration Office Tanja Miscevic, who is on an official visit to Slovenia, said that Slovenia gives absolute and unambiguous political support to Serbia's European integration.

Miscevic told Tanjug news agency that Slovenia's support can be seen through technical assistance it has so far provided to Serbia.
After a meeting with representatives of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry, Miscevic said that Slovenia sees Serbia as the central country of the Western Balkans, and for that reason Slovenia will pay special attention to the process of Serbia's EU integration during its EU presidency which will begin in 2008.
Miscevic talked with Director of the Slovenian Office for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic about the improvement of the joint "twinning project" and new future projects that will deal with harmonisation of domestic legislation, training of civil servants for EU affairs, and the improvement of capacities of Serbia's local self-governments.
During her stay in Ljubljana, Miscevic held a lecture at the Faculty of Social Sciences themed "Serbia in the process of European integration."
