After touring the Fetislam Fortress together with President of the Kladovo Municipality Goran Matović, Macut said that investments in cultural heritage and infrastructure are creating new opportunities for the future and the long-term economic development of this part of the country.
The Prime Minister cited the medieval Fetislam Fortress, into whose renovation the state has invested over RSD 420 million, as a true example of the successful implementation of such a strategy.
He noted that RSD 150 million have been allocated for the refurbishment and reconstruction of the Kladovo marina in order to position the town on the map of key Danube ports, further enhance the region's tourism offer, and thereby attract a greater number of domestic and foreign visitors.
He stated that the Government of Serbia will continue to provide systemic support for projects that contribute to economic growth, job creation, and a significant rise in the standard of living for all citizens in this region.
The Prime Minister said that he was impressed by the renovated fortress, which is one of the region's most important cultural and historical landmarks and a tourism gem of Serbia.
