Prime Minister in a caretaker capacity Professor Đuro Macut, MD, DSc, met today in Banja Luka with the incumbent Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Savo Minić, whom he congratulated on his election to the position of President of Republika Srpska at the general elections, and expressed his expectation that coordination between the two governments will continue, alongside strengthened cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and infrastructure.

Following a meeting between members of the governments of Republika Srpska and Serbia, Macut expressed his expectation that Minić’s election as the new President of Republika Srpska will ensure the continuation of planned activities, noting that the symbolism of these joint meetings reflects a positive trend.
The Prime Minister emphasised that cooperation and coordination with ministers from Republika Srpska will continue and that a coordination body, representing a new form of cooperation, had been established to implement all agreed-upon measures and he highlighted cooperation aimed at improving the quality of education.
Minić assessed that the construction of a trans-Serb highway connecting Banja Luka and Belgrade is progressing well and described it as a historic and strategic project, announcing that the joint border crossing between Republika Srpska and Serbia will be completed in December.
He underlined that Republika Srpska and Serbia have significant cooperation in the field of science too, noting that this represents an additional layer of development.
The meeting in Banja Luka was also attended by Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure in a caretaker capacity Aleksandra Sofronijević, Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in a caretaker capacity Bela Balint and Minister without portfolio in a caretaker capacity in charge of coordinating activities and measures in the field of relations with the diaspora Đorđe Milićević.
