State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services Gordana Todic said today that modern and efficient organisation of inspection services in the field of trade and tourism, harmonised with EU standards, is one of the Ministry's priorities.
Opening a two-day workshop called "Improving the work of inspection services in the field of trade and tourism according to EU standards", Todic said that the final goal of the reform is the protection and the provision of good information to consumers in Serbia.
The meeting is attended by experts from Norway and Slovenia who will relate their experiences to Serbian civil servants working in the market and tourist inspection services and international cooperation sectors.
The workshop is being organised by the Norwegian state-owned consultancy firm Statkonsult and the Serbian Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Services. It is being realised as part of a programme of cooperation of the governments of Serbia and Norway, with financial assistance from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
