After meeting with head of the Rasina district and representatives of the Krusevac municipality, Stojkovic recalled that the National Anti-Corruption Strategy was adopted and that the Action Plan covers all segments of public administration where corruption might occur. He also added that the draft law on an anti-corruption agency is now in the parliamentary procedure.
He explained that the agency should replace the existing Anti-Corruption Council and that it will be an independent body appointed by parliament with a managing board, director and a network throughout Serbia.
Stojkovic said that the agency will also be in charge of financing political parties and ownership cards of all public officials.
He added that a total of €30 million has been set aside for investments in courts, prosecutors and prisons, noting that Serbia will near European standards with the realisation of these projects.
The Minister announced that a prison unit in the Special Court will be finished in less than one month and added that the pavilion in the Sremska Mitrovica prison will make Serbian prisons meet European standards, after the adoption of the amnesty bill.
Stojkovic spoke with representatives of the Krusevac municipality and head of the Rasina district on relocation of the prison from the city centre.
