Activities to improve working conditions for civil society organisations

Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue in a caretaker capacity Demo Beriša discussed today with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Civil Society Anu Juvonen the strengthening of cooperation between state institutions and civil society, as well as the importance of fostering social dialogue at the local level.

The activities aimed at improving working conditions for civil society organisations and facilitating their inclusion in decision-making processes were presented at the meeting, with the message that the Ministry continues to create opportunities for direct dialogue with such organisations and citizens across Serbia.

Beriša recalled that the Strategy for Creating an Enabling Environment for the Development of Civil Society for the 2022–2030 period has been adopted, along with the Action Plan for the 2025–2026 period.

The participants agreed that further strengthening cooperation requires a continued, regular exchange of views between institutions and civil society, as well as ensuring their participation in processes of importance to citizens.
