At a round table discussion on craftsmanship in Serbia, organised by the Employers' Union of Serbia, Bubalo stressed that the aim of these tax reliefs is to enable better working conditions for the development of craftsmanship.
He outlined that craftsmanship in Serbia is regulated by the Law on entrepreneurs and announced that this sector will soon be further ordered through the Company law which is being prepared.
Bubalo recalled that in the past several years a lot has been done on facilitating and accelerating the registration process for companies and shops. He also pointed to reliefs for starting companies and businesses thanks to which in order to register a shop, one needs only their personal identification card.
State Secretary of Labour, Employment and Social Policy Ljiljana Milosavljevic emphasised that investments in craftsmanship, employment in this area and the protection of employees are essential issues when it comes to craftsmanship development in Serbia.
She warned that there were no investments in craftsmanship for years and Serbia has no particular strategy for this area, however it is necessary to sign a special collective contract for employees in this sector with the aim of regulating their rights and status.
She also added that certain changes should be introduced in the schooling system so that young people studying craftwork would get more practical lessons.
