Naumov told the press that the Ministry of Energy and Mining will form a team of experts from the Ministry and energy companies, which will monitor the situation in the energy sector within the country and the region, so that all challenges may be met in due time.
He stressed that latest events in Europe remind us that we should show greater concern for the electricity supply at the beginning of winter.
According to Naumov, the recent shortage of 6000 megawatts in production capacities in the EU was caused mainly by excessive consumption levels, or the inability to supply enough electricity.
Naumov pointed to the fact that the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) is prepared for the winter, but an inadequate supply of electricity in the region might lead to crises which Serbia has managed to avoid thus far, owing to the timely reaction of the EPS.
He warned that irrational behaviour should be avoided, so that we do not have to deal with a critical situation.
