Regarding the opening of Cluster 3, Apostolović stressed that Serbia has fulfilled additional conditions to that end, which the European Commission has recognised, and therefore has again recommended that the cluster be opened.
He recalled that the decision is now up to the Member States to give their consent to its opening.
In addition, Apostolović noted that Serbia must continue to work on other elements of the negotiation process, and that fulfilling the recommendations from the regular Annual Report of the European Commission for 2025 in all areas and clusters, or chapters, is of key importance.
During the meeting, the progress made so far in implementing the recommendations from the report was discussed, along with the activities that need to be completed in the coming period, bearing in mind that the end of August is the deadline for submitting inputs to the European Commission, namely information on the steps taken.
Apostolović specified that each institution must take full responsibility for the activities within its purview, and announced that the next Annual Report of the European Commission will be approached in a different, proactive manner.
