Đurić expressed satisfaction with today’s meeting in Belgrade, noting that during his visit to Ottawa he had previously had the opportunity to meet with members of this very important body, not only for the large Serbian diaspora in Canada but also for strengthening the comprehensive relations between the two countries.
Reflecting on his visit to Canada in May this year, which opened a new chapter in bilateral relations, he pointed to Serbia’s commitment to further strengthening economic ties with Canada in areas of mutual interest that have been jointly identified as promising fields for cooperation.
The head of Serbian diplomacy also discussed regional issues with the Canadian delegation, led by MP Nenad Kuruc, emphasising that Serbia’s domestic policy remains focused on stability, growth and development.
Đurić reiterated his invitation to his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand to visit Serbia, which would provide the best opportunity to mark the 85th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
During today’s meeting, in honour of this important anniversary in relations between the two countries, the Minister presented Kuruc with a commemorative postage stamp issued to mark 85 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Canada.
