Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Academician Bela Balint met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe Amon Murwira to discuss opportunities for establishing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of science and innovation.

The meeting focused on cooperation in human resource development, mineral resource exploration, researcher exchanges, technology transfer, strengthening links between science and industry, and agronomy.
Balint said that Serbia is ready to expand cooperation for the benefit of researchers and scientists in both countries.
Murwira noted that Zimbabwe is well aware of the significant progress Serbia has made in science and innovation, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
Zimbabwe is ready to step up cooperation through the launch of researcher exchange programmes and joint projects in both the public and private sectors, he said.
The two officials also announced the harmonisation of a memorandum of understanding that could be signed before Expo 2027 is held.
